Did you figure out if your messages are going to the correct subs? If they aren't, I don't mind helping ya out. We can fix the issue. This message network isn't like the other QWK network. We help each other out, and there aren't rude gate-keepers here. lmao

There is another QWK network that is notorious for that, there a bunch of know-it-all jerks.

From what I can tell I think my post that made it to the incorrect area was my fault.
Screen reader engine on my side may have been focused on the incorrect area when I was sending the outbound post.

No biggie here man. The only rules I have is no political posts, and no lgbtq alphabet posts. Those two subjects always seem to get arguments started, lol.

    I hear ya.
That's one of the things I did enjoy about Fsxnet to a large degree from what I read over there.
I don't mix my politics or religion up in my internet life.
Guess I learned that from my ham radio interest as well.

What was it exactly that you enjoyed about fsxnet? Fill me in, I don't know anything about fsxnet. How hard is it to setup a fido-style network?

Fsxnet is a network that offers similar echos to the ones found here.
It is ran by a guy in NZ.
This network has 4 hubs that the different systems connect through.
The hubs are placed in different regions of the world and the nodes connect to each hub.
Each hub exchanges traffic with all of the other 3 hubs when messages are sent / received.
Setting up an FTN as it is called allows for much more real time message delivery.
If you do things the right way you can use dns to find hubs and nodes with out having to have a node list.
Older bbs's may still require a node list so depending on what systems use the FTN this still may be something that needs to be maintained.
I believe the site for fsxnet is fsxnet.nz.
I have learned a lot from this process and if you want to offer both styles of connectivity this is something that can be done.
We just have to pick an unused FTN number and have some fun with dns or nodelist setup.
We can discuss more. Let me know.

FSXNET is on my list to implement.

I see other BBS's connected to FSXnet. There's a bunch of FTN type message networks that are interesting I see on other BBSes. Once you figure one out BinkP and Echomail others should be a snap to set up once you get a node address and the hub sets up your AREAfix and session passwords for polling.

BTW - I have a node address and everything for Hobby-Net (FTN) and message areas are all set up. My system is even polling their hub in Florida every hour but no messages are coming in. I emailed the guy and haven't received a reply to trouble shoot after sending 3 emails to him. My AREAFIX outbound mail never gets to them and sits in my outbox. Not sure why. Cant get the messages in until i send an AREAFIX %+ALL command to select all the areas. I'm getting ready to drop them soon. Wasting my time and is frustrating.

When it comes to other FTN's Fsxnet seems to be the only one really
    worth it.
Hobbynet has echos, but not much traffic in them.
    Same goes for nixnet.
Micronet has some traffic, but the content isn't for me long term here.
If you are into gaming I suspect it may be useful, but for me bbsing is
    about the communication factor.

If I play games, I play them on ps5. I don't play pc games anymore, due to bad ports.
