Swamp Thing on Svengoolie

This Saturday at 8pm US ET, MeTV's Svengoolie is airing the 1982 film "Swamp Thing," based on the DC character by the same name. It stars Ray Wise as Dr. Alec Holland, Louis Jordan as the supervillain Anton Archane, and Adrienne Barbeau as government scientist Alice Cable. It was written and directed by noted horror director Wes Craven.
It was a straight-to-video release. It did well enough on VHS and cable to spawn a sequel in 1989. The 1982 movie's story was also adapted into a comic book -- Swamp Thing Annual #1 -- and inspired a cable TV series that ran from 1990-1993.
A bit of trivia... it was re-released on home video in 2000. The DVD version was labeled as the US release with a PG rating. However, MGM made a mistake and the DVD actually included a longer, international version of the film which contained more nudity and "adult themes." This was eventually reported by a consumer, triggering a recall and reissue of the correct US version.
I would guess that makes the original discs collectors items.
