I just checked and it IS still available on Prime Video.
Cool! This was highly recommended to me by a fellow nerd at the local co-op grocery. I really need to watch it.
If you follow it along for a few episodes, and start to pick up on what is going on, it gets really good for at least the first three season. The fourth season, which was the first one on Amazon Prime (instead of SyFy) wasn't bad but was not as action packed as the first three.
I think it took me about 5 episodes to realize that it was going to be a
great show. IMHO, there are a couple of space battle sequences during the first 2 or 3 seasons that are better than anything from Star Wars, and that is from a big fan of the first three Star Wars movies.
Also IMHO, I think some people have trouble getting into it because it is
not "fiction" enough... *almost all* the characters are human and most of the tech is believable extensions of what could be a couple hundred years into
our own future. At least through the first 4 seasons, there were no
wookies or ewoks or hutts to catch ones imagination about aliens... but remember, I did say *almost all* of the characters are human. ;)
You also do have to like watching a show where there is a story that continues building across several episodes vs. the "monster of the week" format that other sci-fi shows like Star Trek TOS, the Outer Limits, or the early X-Files usually used.
Because Amazon stopped putting their seasons on DVD after their first
season, I have only seen the first two or three episodes of S5, and none of
S6.
... Silly wabbit, QWKs are for kids.
