Hello all,

I've just noticed that the most recent PiNet nodelist I have is dated
November 7th. Same thing for RetroNet...

I remember something about having to re-subscribe to the file echos
recently, and I did that successfully. But have not received a new
nodelist in nearly two months.

Anybody know why, and/or are you seeing the same thing?

It's true. I haven't received a Nodelist for cNet, RetroNet, piNet for quite a while now. i run synchronet on linux and rechecked subribe status for the file echos also.

It's true. I haven't received a Nodelist for cNet, RetroNet, piNet for quite a while now. i run synchronet on linux and rechecked subribe

If you FILEFIX all the file echos, you should be getting nodelists every Friday. You can also get them at www.rofbbs.com

And.... another update. As soon as I sent the above reply, I got back replies from both Pi and Retro. Those said I was subscribed to PiNet (for PIN_NETINFO), but not subscibed to Retro (for RTN_INFO). So I have messaged RetroNet Filefix to re-subscribe to that one. Still doesn't explain why I haven't gotten a nodelist anytime recently though (for PiNet).

What threw me off above was that I had to re-poll to get the response back from Filefix... normally I've gotten those back almost instantly from other systems. Hopefully I'll see a couple of nodelists this Friday.

I was told I just need 1 netmail for all networks, or 1 for each. Also how should it be set up? I been trying different ways ever sinse I read this thread in hopes I can get the it right for proper FILEFIX and then for a proper hatch this Friday.

I don't know anything about Mystic.

It's a little confusing too when you say "email" and then "netmail". To
me those are two completely different things. Not sure what you mean.

I was playing around with an automative script and I think that is what messed things up. I was able to force the hatch and now I got all 4 networks. nodelist.009 for all 4. So I think the automated script may now be working. Its a complex script that makes the nodelists, copies them where they need to go, hatches them out and then another script reads them and grabs the GPS location for their pin on the map.

I have not received anything for PiNet or RetroNet.

Nodelists went out on the 16th, the next time will be the 23rd. I am on my Amiga BBS and the files where in my inbound folder.

That's not really the point.

Hatching out a regular Nodelist is a basic/fundamental function of the coordinator of any FTN, in my opinion. I'm just surprised at the lack
of urgency that you seem to have.

What's almost more surprising is that it used to work. Now it doesn't.
What changed to break it? Just un-change it.

They haven't hatched to me in weeks, I sent a FILEFIX a while back and the response I got was everything was hooked up.. Haven't gotten anything since..

(re)-check that I'm still subscribed and sent Filefix (%LIST and
%LINKED) messages to both PiNet and RetroNet. Surprisingly, got almost immediate replies back, and both Nets showed still linked...

Then... maybe 10 seconds later, I got the Nodelists and InfoPacks for
both networks.

So... I'm wondering (Spitfire are you listening?) - does the server side
need to be "prompted" to send the stuff out? I doubt it was a
coincidence that they arrived seconds after I "asked" about them via
Filefix netmail...

Very interesting. I hadn't received anything. So, I decided to (re)-check that I'm still subscribed and sent Filefix (%LIST and %LINKED) messages to both PiNet and RetroNet. Surprisingly, got almost immediate replies back, and both Nets showed still linked...

Then... maybe 10 seconds later, I got the Nodelists and InfoPacks for both networks.

So... I'm wondering (Spitfire are you listening?) - does the server side need to be "prompted" to send the stuff out? I doubt it was a coincidence that they arrived seconds after I "asked" about them via Filefix netmail...

We'll see what happens next week.

Now i also got the other 2 files PINET.030 and CNET.030
Lets hope we are back on a weekly track ;)

Yeah, I had to re-subscribe to the file echo(s) several times with
Filefix, but I have gotten nodelists delivered the last couple of weeks.

There are still issues though, as it seems a new one comes out but still
has the date (at the top of the actual nodelist) from a previous one.
Also, what's really aggravating to me, is that the archive seems to
contain more than one nodelist, which makes the SBBS nodelist handler
script fail, because it expects only one file. Also there is an
un-necessary subdirectory under the first one that the nodelists are in,
which also makes the script fail. Just.......... annoying.

Aoccrding to my hub, it no longer carried RTN_NODELIST which would probably explain it.

Ah, that may explain it then...I thought I was in the retronet area :)

That said, last nodelist for pinet was 2024 also.

Norelists are being sent now every Friday. You can allways download the latest from www.rofbbs.com

I also fixed the nodelist date issue. The nodelist and the filename now match.

Is there anything else that was an issue?
