• Graph Databases

    Graph databases look like they would be useful for a social networking site because of the way the nodes are connected. But it seems everything is just SQL still, or if they want to be adventurous MongoDB or Cassandra. You can say what you want about those document databases and SQL, but they function almost the same when compared to a graph database. Graph just directly hops to the data using pointers, no need to search a list. So you can build relationships in very little time when you are trying to build something like a friend of a friend of a friend network. SQL or a document DB would struggle with that.
    What do you guys think about graph databases, and do you think they should be used more often?

    mongodb is very web scale you just turn it on and it scales right up ----------------------------------
