By RTOS I meant something like FreeRTOS. It's not really useful on a dedicated PC, but it is a modern operating system.

Windows all the way mainly because it's the best OS for gaming, and I'm primarily a PC gamer myself. However, I have been slightly annoyed with windows 11. Windows 11 has removed many of the features the older OS' had, and I'm not a fan of how they keep pushing AI down everyones throats. Overall though, I think windows is the best due to the simplicity of the system, how user friendly it is, and how compatible it is with gaming. Linux has been gaining significant market share in the gaming world (steam hardware 2025 data proves this), but we're still a far way out before Linux becomes mainstream for gaming in my opinion. Macs also aren't that great for gaming, with a few exceptions. So for now windows is my go to, and I doubt anything will change. The fact a lot of the games I play require kernel level anti-cheat and don't work on linux is a huge problem for me, and the main reason why I haven't switched. I just wish there was an OS out there that had the customizability of Linux, but with the compatibility and user-friendly experience of windows...
