I use pablo draw...yeah it sucks, but it works. Delete that last message i posted. I was trying to quote your text and ended up saving it....booooo. So this time, I didn't quote lol.
LOL. No problem, it's been deleted. I think there's a setting in Sync that I can toggle to left members delete their posts. I'll look into that.
I am not a great artist by no means. I can manage..modding synchronet is a beast too. You can do so much with it, but you better be good with javascript and creative...You can do a lot in baja, it's easier to use. I end up using both. If piece together different scripts to get shit to work. If you need any help let me know. I will see what I can do. I am thinking about starting a qwk network for synchronet support. If you go on the usual places to get support, you will get rude replies. I have seen the old school sysops who know all about synchronet, literally run people off. They close their board down lol
Is there a BAJA editor that's good to use? I haven't advertised my BBS yet because I'm waiting on spicing it up a bit with some ANSI art and adding more content, and working out all the networking services and such. Trying to get enough content to keep folks busy and interested when they arrive to bring them coming back. That's always the hardest thing to do.
The other day, I was trying to display an ansi at a slower speed. So the picture didn't blow by so fast, you couldn't see it. I had the @codes@ up on the wiki page and went through all of the codes and was wondering what the best one would be..It wasn't documented to well. So I went to cvs irc channel and asked.
The first response I got was and I quote...."what are you using synchronet irc as the wiki now?"
so be careful how you word your questions, make sure you read the documentation on what you are doing...and expect blow back.
So far I've been posting questions on the Synchronet discussions DOVE-NET group and Rob, and a few others, have been helpful. I only post questions that I just can't figure out after hours or research and trying. I don't want to be "that noobie guy" constantly asking questions. However, it is costing me many more hours a day plugging along trying things - LOL
I thought you would have came by my board by now. I am adding a telnet link on my board to your bbs so, if someone stumbles accross the menu, in my external programs, they may telnet to your board...kind of free advertising.
Sorry about that. I have been struggling trying to get FIDONET up and running and it has been consuming all my time. Yesterday alone I spent close to 8 hours on it. I finally gave up at midnight and said "screw it" and was just gonna give up. Then, I woke up this morning and the darn thing is working. Crazy. I think my hub is just very slow at responses.. I mean I try something and it's like 4 hours later before I get anything back. Right now it's working but I'm trying to figure out how to get messages older than last night coming in. Like a years worth. That's my goal today.
I'll be stopping by your place today for sure. :) And thanks for coming by and posting and stuff.
Oh, just forgot, if you ask a question on dove-net or irc. Make sure your spelling is correct and punctuation is on point. They won't even answer your question. They will just make fun of you.
I can read a post of mine 10 times over before submitting and right after it's posted I find errors! LOL
Don't mind my spelling or punctuation on here. I don't really find it a priority to make things perfect.
Good luck, and have a wonderful day.
Thanks a bunch!!
