You talking about SyncTerm? I say that because yeah, it's.... rough. Could be due to the nature of varying window managers and display subsystems... or it could just be kind of a crack hackjob.

Works well enough though, for when I need its features on my laptop.

I think Syncterm is a kind of crack hackjob too. Even in windows it's rough as a corn cob. I am talking about Linux in general. There is no seamless integration across apps, and the U.I. Some programs look and work amazing, It is however, not at all the norm. In-fact most of them look down right horrible. Options, and things are not organized in a cohesive manor.
that "rough around the edges" feeling is exactly why people often switch back to macOS or Windows. It's frustrating because you want it to be good, but
then you open one app that looks modern and another that looks like it's from 2005.The lack of cohesion usually comes down to three things:The "Toolkit" War: Some apps are built with GTK (GNOME style) and others with Qt (KDE style). They use different rules for scrollbars, buttons, and menus, so they rarely match perfectly.The "Volunteer" Gap: A lot of great Linux apps are built by one or two brilliant coders who are great at making things work but aren't professional designers. They prioritize features over "padding" or "rounded corners."Fragmentation: Because there isn't one single "Linux Company" (like Apple) to enforce a style guide, every app developer just does what they think looks best.

There should be some guidelines to make it more cohesive. Yeah we linux nerds, can make our g.u.i look amazing, but all the apps running on that beautiful g.u.i are hit and miss.

I like the unpolished look of many Linux distros. It definitely doesn't use near the resources. My desktop Window Manager in Winders is using close to a Gig of RAM :D

That's ridiculous, it shouldn't use that much ram. If it's just sitting there not doing anything, that's appalling. Why do they force bloatware on people like that?

It might not be that much bloatware as I do have 6 monitors and about 3 million tabs open
