I switched over to BandZoogle for most of the needs I have for Wordpress and that service is very fast and far superior to Wordpress for the things I use it for.
Dang, I have never heard of them before. Are they easy to setup, and do they come with templates? We had a beautiful word-press server for our old bulletin board, and it ran extremely fast. We had an instant messenger setup, like Facebook's/aim. It was easy to setup, and looked professional.

I HATE WORDPRESS! I've used it for years and finally gave up. WAY TO SLOW!! Example - The Telnet BBS Guide runs on Wordpress. Go see how fast it is!
I originally had my JerseyJam web page hosted elsewhere using Wordpress and people would hit that page, read about the BBS, then click links to connect directly to my system. Problem is, it would take 10-20 secs just for a single page to display. By then people thought the site wasn't working and went elsewhere. That's 10-20 secs just to display a welcome page that told people about my BBS. Nothing special. I removed Wordpress and created a single .html file and the page delivery was instant. Subsequently, I just pointed all of my domain to my BBS for more control.

What type of hardware were you running WP on? Was it self-hosted or hosted on some sort hosting provider?

Wasn't running it on my own gear, it was a paid hosting service at Mocahost. Been using them for an over a decade with several sites. Wordpress ran slow on other hosting companies as well. I switched over to BandZoogle for most of the needs I have for Wordpress and that service is very fast and far superior to Wordpress for the things I use it for.

Dude I'm sorry I didn't get your phone call will-ie. I couldn't sleep last night, and when I finally passed out i had my phone next to me, and it was dead, as a door nail. It's strange I couldn't sleep, either. I just laid there watching youtube videos about the making of resident evil games. My I-pad was dead and my phone, when I woke up, at like 9:30. I felt like dog crap too man.
