UNEXPECTED SATELLITE EXPLOSION: On Sept. 13th, USA 32 unexpectedly shed a cloud of debris 775 km above Earth. No one knows why the 1988 spy satellite broke apart, and the fragments are now spreading through a crowded shell of low Earth orbit shared by more than 200 active satellites.
