The glory days of Commodore were long time in the past. I am deeply pessimistic about them ever coming back.

There is still a lot of retro stuff going on for the coming max 40 years
or so. Thus reviving a dormant brand seems to be a good idea if
commercial interests are NOT the reason.

I have been using UNIX/Linux/FreeBSD for over 30 years now and
probably nothing Commodore could offer could replace it.

Nostalgia. You of course needed to own a Commodore product back in the
day. But if you were in Atari or other manufacturers of home computers,
    you probably won't care.

Writing happily on Fedora 42 using tin newsreader...

43 was out when you wrote this. I recently upgraded my 43 installation to
    44. Was actually quite painful compared to upgrade a Debian installation,
    but it worked.

I am 45 and had a CoCo 2 as a child. I love the new Ultimate because I am getting to experience an alternate childhood ;) Plus my little nephews love it, too.
