So, Who all has workig C-64 setup?
I have a Commodore 1702 display and a 1541-II (but mostly just use the Pi1541) and a real C64. I'll swap the C64 out after a while for my Plus/4.
But now I have a C64Ultimate hooked up. The old C64 will probably go up on eBay soon.
... APPLE: It may be slow, but at least it's expensive.

I had been working on my set up for a few years now and luckily bought a few of the working C64s when it wasn't even a thing. The more recent purchase was a 64C with a 1541-II drive to match. I have one 1702 monitor. All in all 3 1541 drives. They all mostly work. I can't quite get it to be consistent due to the disks either being dirty or data loss. At one point I had to constantly clean the head just to get it to work properly. As much as I like the concept of emercing ones self in retro computing, I had no choice but to get one of those cute mini drives SD2IEC and that was a game changer.
So having all these units and all works except one 64C that I'm trying to figure out still... I had to buy the new C64U. As I'm most of you have heard, this thing is a piece of art. I'm still getting accustomed to it but so far it's impressive.
Does anyone tinker at all with the tape drive? Curious.. not something I've done yet although I had one back in the day which LOL was swiftly returned for a 1541.
